Meeting with Richard Tice
Richard Tice, the Deputy Leader of the Reform UK Party came to visit us recently to discuss Cubico’s proposals. We met at Edenfield Community Centre. Several group members attended, along with many local Reform supporters and local candidates for the upcoming local elections in Rossendale.
Some members of our group do not support Reform UK and we were a little nervous that some might find Richard’s strong political views off-putting. In the end we should not have worried. Richard gave a very powerful speech demonstrating a strong understanding of the issues. He also made a generous commitment. He promised to write to Cubico’s owners to explain that should Reform UK gain an overall majority at the next election they will rescind or claw-back all NetZero subsidies.
Whether you support Reform UK or not, they are the only party in the UK who have a clear stance on NetZero and also stand a realistic chance of influencing government policy. Engaging with Richard and Reform UK raised awareness of this application. It has also helped us to recruit new members to support our campaign.
Our sincere thanks go to Richard and his colleagues who supported him, as well as Danny Matchett and Jo Ash. Danny is the Reform UK candidate and chairperson for the Darwin, Bacup and Rawtenstall. Jo is a Reform UK candidate in the upcoming local elections.
