Horrifying Destruction of Peat by Cubico “Sustainable” Investments
This video shows the before and after situation on the top of Scout Moor where Cubico “Sustainable” Energy recently erected a Metrology Mast to gather data to support their planning application for Scout Moor 2 Wind Farm, a massive extension of the existing 27 x 100m turbines on Scout Moor. The new ones (17 x 180m high ) will spread across Scout and Rooley Moors, and will span the historic Cotton Famine Road.
What you will see demonstrates the huge gap between Cubico’s fine words about sustainable development and the massive damage they have caused simply by erecting one Metrology Mast. They broke a number of planning conditions, some remain broken, and completely disregarded their responsibility to protect the moors and wild life.
It’s a good maxim in life to judge people by what they do, not by what they say. In this respect, Cubico have been found to behave like modern day cowboys without a shred of decency, remorse or guilt for the damage they have caused. Shame on them.
Image the destruction they would cause building the wind farm when they will dig up a minimum of 130,000 cubic meters of peat and possibly up to 200,000 cubic metres!
