Cubico have just submitted the formal planning application for 17 turbines. The application is now being validated by Rochdale. We assume the same for Rossendale. Therefore, we expect both councils to initiate consultation in the next few weeks.

The cynics amongst us note that the application comes in at 99.9 MW. This is just under the limit to be reviewed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). The reason for this is that having the application reviewed locally will mean an easier path to approval.
