The planning application is live at Rossendale with reference number 2025/0267 and at Rochdale with the reference 25/00680/FUL.

Already many objections have been lodged with both councils. Unfortunately, Rochdale Council do not publish the content of objections on their portal so you cannot use them to form your own. However, you can view all objections on Rossendale’s portal where you will find plenty of useful content you can use to form your own objections. However, please lodge your objections on both portals.

Write your own objection using the information provided on the Rossendale portal or use our template objection letter. The closing date for comments is confused due to multiple letters being sent out by authorities and no specific date provided. However, in order to be sure, please comment on the application by the 20th October 2025.

What else you can do:

1. Write to your MP to let them know you oppose – and if you feel able – to let them know it is a deal-breaker for you in terms of them securing your vote at the next election. Save time using our ready-made suggestion (but feel free to customise).
2. Write to your local councillors and let them know that you oppose this proposal. Again, if you can say that your future support depends on their response – all the better.
3. Get in touch with the press and make your opposition known. Letter writing is a very powerful way of demonstrating the unpopularity of this proposal.
4. Share our website and Facebook page as much as you can.
5. Show your support by printing and displaying our A4 leaflet (see below), and use our square and round logos on websites and social networks.
6. Make a donation which will go towards funding publicity material and potentially securing professional legal services.
