Please write to your MP now!

In response to the formal planning application going live, we have put together a template objection letter for writing to MPs and councillors.  The letter covers the key benefits claimed by Cubico and shows that none of them stand up to scrutiny.

We are taking this approach because there is an old saying in politics which all MPs are very much aware of:

If you receive one letter from a constituent, it’s their problem. If you receive ten, it’s your problem!

We are therefore asking all our supporters to use this template and write to their MP and councillors. The simplest way is to personalise the Word document included below and email it to your MP or councillor as a Word or PDF document. This should include Paul Waugh, even though the application is not in the Rochdale ward. Local MPs talk to each other – let’s make this a major topic of conversation.

We apologise in saying this, but it is inescapable that this wind farm is being foisted on us because of politics. Therefore, in personalising your letter please consider how strongly you can support the statement that:

you would not vote for them again if they support the wind farm

If you are a natural Labour supporter, and can say so, then that would be even more powerful. If you would switch to Reform UK (the only party standing against onshore wind) then saying that would be even more influential.

This initiative is just a numbers game, and we appreciate that our MPs are unlikely to take on board our detailed arguments. However, if we can highlight the political downside of their stances with reason and logic, they cannot simply ignore us as ignorant climate change deniers.

Please get every adult in your household to write separately.

And do share this with as many friends, family and colleagues as you can!

And do not forget that we were successful in getting the last two wind farm applications rejected. This is not a lost cause and there are many good planning reasons why this wind farm should not go ahead.
